Review for Week 35 : 2 Exciting Draws

Hi,

Both the games this week were against a new team who look technical very good. The first game was very fast..with both teams looking to attack..but it was Hoysalas who had more possession & twice came back from a goal down. It was unfortunate that we drew the game..where we had played very well..A couple of goalkeeping errors were enough for the opposition to score 2 goals..But overall we would take it as each & every player played his part pretty well..Biddu ofcourse standing out with his two goals.

Man of the Match - Biddu

This game was as exciting as the previous one..only that both the teams were unable to score..& this time too we had controlled the game all along..We had around half a dozen of chances missed..A great show by the defensive midfield trio of Swamy, Girish & Madan & an outstanding performance by Chander..made the opposition life difficult & they didnt even have a shot at goal..

Man of the Match - Chander

Review for Week 33&34 : Mixed Results

Match 43 Vs RFC
Draw
0-0

Due to some unavoidable circumstances...we could play only for 20 minutes..& both teams failed to score in this short time.

Match 44 Vs RFC
Lost
2-3

A Dissapointing game for Hoysalas where nothing worked except for 2 lucky goals....scored by Karthik & Darshan. We lost the game due to some bad defending..

Man of the Match - Das

Match 45 Vs RFC
Won
6-2

A great performance by the whole team helped in registering the biggest victory of the season.
2 goals each by Biddu, Das & Darshan helped the team to regain some confidence. This was possibly the first time this season, we had a strong team..with Biddu, Chander, Girish, Dhruva back in team. The game was in our control from start to finish..With Chander back, the defence looked rock solid..Swamy, Giri & Dhruva did very well to hold the midfield..Biddu playing after a long break showed just how important he is to the team by scoring the opening goal..Das scored the next two..Darshan coming in as substitute for Harish scored the next two..Biddu again Scored the last...

Man of the Match - Das/Darshan

Two weeks, may be 3-4 games are left in this season, hope all the players turn up for these matches..so that we can finish off the season on a high.

Review for Week 32 : A Convincing win & A thrilling draw

Reviewed by Srinidhi..

Rajarajeshwari FC – 3 vs. Hoysalas FC – 3 - 01-Dec

Chander,Vasu,Das

Hi Hoysalas,

What a Game!! What a comeback that’s what we want at this stage….It is the definite words which came out from every hoysalas players after the match concluded. All it started on Saturday, as usual the game hoysalas played was below par, after the new team took the lead in the first half the players were down, we started the second half nervously where we were punished for poor defending and were down 0-3 with 10 minutes to go… Das who kept in the first half returned to his usual position, then raja who earlier played as centre back was shifted to midfield, which proved to be a gud move, chander scored the opener with cool a finish inside the box with a lob over keeper’s head, then vasu scored absolute blinder from the right wing to make 2 for hoysalas which ignited the chances for hoysalas, fired up hoysalas just began to show their class at the other end as opposition denied the clear penalty, but in the dying moments makeshift mid fielder Raja who was unmarked took a shot which struck the defenders hand to give away much needed penalty for hoysalas, where das completed the formalities to level the score line with 3-3 . Thus the match ended in thrilling draw where hoysalas came back to register one of the best comebacks in hoysalas football history.

Rajarajeshwari FC – 0 vs. Hoysalas FC – 3 - 02-Dec

Das,Madan,Hari

Hi Hoysalas,

After making their best comeback in their previous match, hoysalas were more confident going into this game, although RFC made a brilliant start to the game trying to attack from the starting minute itself to take the revenge of yesterdays encounter, but often failed to open up the rock solid defence of hoysalas which gave away nothing, as the game progressed hoysalas took control of the game slowly and looked more comfortable in breaking the links between midfield and strikers, which gave an initial advantage to hoysalas to go forward and attack the RFC defence, Das once again proved to be the key for hoysalas as he and raja combined well to openthe scoring with brilliant strike from the top of the D, once hoysalas got the much needed lead, players played more confidently to pressurize the opposition in their own half, and soon another brilliant goal followed the great opener, this by time by another mid fielder Madan, it was absolute screamer from 40 yards..But the best goal was resrved for thelast..Harish who won the ball just outside the D..sent in a piledriver..to seal the match at 3-0. Chander was outsanding in the defence..ably supported by Karthik, Abhi, Srini & Jagga..Windy, Madan & Swamy were instrumental in cutting off the attack from the opposition. Darshan was very impressive & troubled the opposition defence with his pace..Harish played a special game..& was voted as Man of the Match from our friend Boris..

Man of the Match - Harish/Darshan

Congrats to the whole team from my side who stood as a team right from the start and achieved the morale boosting victory just before the C Divisionleague starts. Thanks a lot and keep it up….Hats off to the team…

Review for Week 30 & 31 : A win & 3 defeat against new opposition

Hi

A new opposition atlast..

1 win out of 4 against a decent team is at best below average performance from us. We lost the first 2 Won the 3rd & lost the 4th again..

The first game was evenly fought..but a terribel error from Jagga & Raja gave the opposition the winning goal in dying moments of the game.
In the Second game we played bad football & lost 1-5..
Third game we bounced back & had full control of the game & came away with a clean sheet after a long time..Darshan & Harish scored a goal each to seal the victory.
We lost the 4th one within 10 minutes thru 2 errors from the defence & goalkeeper..though we got into the game with a goal from Das..we never really were in a chance after those 2 goals

Review for Week 29 : Hoysala lose as swamy scores at the wrong end twice

Vs Vinayaka
lost 0-2

Hi,

Match against Vinayaka after two victories looked interesting..but with most of the players not available..we had pretty young team for the match...and we did perform quite well with the team that we had. We lost the match thru 2 own goals by swamy one as a player & other as goalkeeper. It was really unfortunate as we had managed to keep them quite the whole match. Srinidhi was the standout player for us..he looked very fit after many months & showed he can be very gud at his new position as a striker.

If we are not playing against any team this week..hoping to kickstart HEL this week..

Review for Week 28 : Das & Shashi lead Hoysalas to Second staright victory

Vs Young Boys
Won 10-4

Hi,

One more victory thanks to a whole team effort..where everyone played there best.

A 10-4 score looks a bit too much for football..but the fact is that we played the match for nearly 150 minutes tells the real story. Das scored 5 wonderful goals & Shahsi got his first goal for Hoysalas & went on to claim a hatrick & Srinidhi scored 2. The victory was better than the previous one as the opponents were better than the last time we played them..with more senior players coming in..
An allround performance from the whole team ensured a pretty comfortable victory..Karthik was outstanding in the defence so were Windy & Jagga..Abhi did his part well in holding the midfiled..but the standout performers were Shashi & Das.

Hoping to c more victories like this..but the real one is reserved for Vinayaka..hope they have enough BALLS to play against us this week

Review for Week 27 : Hurray!!! A Win Atlast

Vs Young Boys
Won 10-6

Hi,

A victory atlast!!

A good performance against a Young Boys saw Hoysala's register there first win after 5 months..
A poor start saw Hoysalas conceding 4 goals in the first half but picked themselves up in the second half thru goals from Srinidhi (3), Biddu (3), Narayan (2), Vasu (1) & Raja (1).

Defence was pretty poor in the early part of the game with defenders swamy & karthik & Goalee Raja responsible for the goals conceded in the first half..but Swamy kept well when he was substitued a sgoalee & Karthik stood out in the second half. Shashi, Das, Vasu & Narayan played some beautiful football which consistently put pressure on the opposition defence. Both Srinidhi & Biddu looked out of sorts but scored a hatrick each.

Dasara has really has been lucky for us..lets hope we start winning from here..though the real test is against Vinayaka & some other better teams..for the moment though lets enjoy this win.

Man of the Match - Narayan/Vasu

I wish Narayan a "HAPPY MARRIED LIFE" on behalf of Hoysala's..

Review for Week 26 : Same old story continues

Vs Vinayaka
Lost 1-3

Hi,

Our problems are as old as hills & we havent yet found the solution..we have been playing pretty good football for the last four weeks & yet havent able to win or draw a game..

A different & new attacking statergy in this match almost worked..with six players in attacking positions..we had the game under control & took the lead early in the first half with some good passing & some cool finishing by Raja.. We had 3 more straight forward chances & we didnt take them. As in most of the matches this season when we looked set to win we gave away a rather easy goal & they followed it up with two more, all 3 goals were scored in the last 15 minutes.

The intent is there but we seem to be going somewhere wrong in the execution
i think its getting little bit frustrating..

for the record
Last time we won was on 27th May 2007 against BU
From 27th May Onwards we have played 22 games lost 21 & 1 Draw
Out of 33 matches this season we have won 3, 4 draw & lost 26
We have scored 39 goals & conceded 92 goals

Hope this Dasara or Deepavali or atleast Christmas brings us some luck..if not no need to worry Sankranthi will follow soon.
I promise a big party to all the members on the day we win.

Vs Vinayakalost 0-1

Review by Srinidhi

Hi,

Hoysala’s are now starting to find their old form once they were known for, this week was clear witness of that, although Vinayaka FC emerged as late winners, were far from threatening to the young hoysalas.

Hoysalas started the game in absence of several key players, the young hoysalas were totally in control of the game right from the start of the match, swamy took the initiative in absence of the skipper windoor to lead the side, although he was back from the “back injury” which ruined the most part of the on-going season started brilliantly at the back commanding the team right from the start, in absence of windoor (right back) chandru took over the position and played brilliantly, at other end left back jagga also had an outstanding game keeping the opposition open play alt many times, as defense chipped in with great performance, defensive mid fielders also had an excellent game by protecting the defense on many occasions, in absence of girish, abhi chipped in with some useful contribution to the team providing assists to forwards as wells as timed tackles to protect defense, the versatile player madan joined the arms with abhi in defensive mid playing one of the game of his life in his hoysalas football career, he was very instrumental in protecting the left side of the defense, where he developed a very good understanding with jagga to keep opposition at bay, our both playmakers Das & Vas also played vital role in building the attack on the other end providing the much needed assists to lone forward srinidhi(so called fox in the box – Just kidding), the best chance of the match came in the second half when das combined with the abhi to play beautiful one touch football which over came oppositions defense, but virtually ending with another ruined chance where Vincent the opposition defender came in to rescue for the hosts, as the game went on Das had one more chance on the target but this time it was denied by the goalie moni. Even oppositions tried lot of options up front to find a goal but were denied by the much organized defense & Mahesh (goalie) in particular, as game was heading to a tame draw, the stand in skipper swamy fumbled at his own half which gave the much needed break to vinayaka as they capitalized to find the net this time with smart finishing from vinayaka’s player (Name not known). Although the draw was a fair result for young hoysalas, they lost the game in the dying minutes yet again. Anyway the results will not make much difference to this side at present; the hoysalas are now finding the touch they had lost, I think we are a real deal in upcoming matches, vinayaka FC will be very eager to beat this young hoysalas.

Review for Week 23 : Great performance but one more defeat

Vs Vinayaka
lost 0-2

Hi,

This week we played one of our best matches but still couldnt win the game. But we can take lot of positives from this game. The oppsoition looked scared of us which we havent seen in a long time.
Two goals conceded before our regular goalee Mahesh came on were the only mistakes we committed otherwise the whole team played really well .. we were able to push them back completely in the second half where we had alsmost 80-90% of ball possession. Vasu had a great game so did others..but the standout performer was Chander who came on as substitute in the second half & gave us the much needed experience. Sunil playing in his last game of the season gave one of his best performance. On behalf of the team, I wish him all the best.

Lets hope we do continue this form in the future as well

HFL : Match Day 3 Review by SRINIDHI

1st Semifinal

Monsters - 2 vs Guns'n'Bullets - 1

Monsters down Bullets to clinch HFL Final Berth!!!

After Monsters losing their previous match against GNG, Monsters wanted to prove to the rivals why they were defending champions, taking on GNB, their performance was once again not up to the mark, defeat in their previous game was very hard as they were made to work hard in order to get the victory, Although monsters took the lead, the game never was one sided, earlier lose to monsters in the league GNB wanted to take sweat revenge on their title rivals but went on to finish as losing side, monsters skipper vasu doubled the lead in the second half as swami came back to score a lone complimentary for GNB, as the match concluded Monsters cruised for another final keeping the title hopes alive.

2nd Semifinal
Guts'n'Glory - 1 Vs Wolves - 1 (GNG won the match 3-0 on penalties)

After Monsters securing one of the two final spot, the second semi final was played between Wolves and GNG. GNG were in confident mood as they just came into the game beating the league leaders, GNG started the game with brilliant fashion with attacking more often, Mahesh opened the scoring for GNG in the first half, but thereafter they missed a lot of chances to take the lead. Wolves made a very good start in second half came back in the positive mood confusing GNG defence lot of times, finally jagga provided the much needed equalizer, with wolves hitting back at the break extending to extra time, but neither of the sides failed to convert the chances, the match had to be decided with penalties. Wolves failed to convert penalties to hand over the remaining final spot to GNG with 3-0 drubbing. Thus, the match ended with GNG going thru to final to face Monsters.

And the FINALs...

Monsters - 1 Vs Guts'n'Glory - 0

The most astonishing tournament came to an end with defending champions Monsters taking on Hard fought Guts”N”Glory. Monsters started brilliantly piling pressure on GNG for most of occasion, when the monster skipper vasu’s brilliant run from the half line to pass to darshan who scored an text book goal was the lone complimentary of the game. But as expected GNG came back in the second half creating one or two easy chances but failed to convert up front which resulted in handing over the championship to Monsters. With this triumph, Monsters now holds the HFL record of back to back championship winners. As the celebrations began in Monsters camp, their skipper Vasu was declared as Man of the Series, along with Vasu, Karthik was also handed the best defender of the series

HFL : Match Day 2 Review by SRINIDHI

Match 4
Guts'n'Glory Vs Monsters
GNG 4 beat Monsters 1

The fourth match of the season was played between the table toppers and defending champions Monsters against Guts’N”Glory. Unbeaten Monsters took on GNG for their final league match of the season; although they were top of the table this match witnessed the greatness of the football where there unbeaten streak was not only ended but was beaten comprehensively by GNG. GNG with a controversial draw against GNB in their previous match came back in a style to down the leaders convincingly, GNG had their star player comeback after missing in the previous game, Shashi who created a lot as well as scoring for the GNG, opened the scoring while srinidhi came back with an equalizer for monsters, but from there after GNG took complete control of the game, with their skipper Sunil striking back to give 2-1 lead, along with Mahesh scoring twice as GNG cruised to victory 4-1 against monsters.

Match 5
Guns'n'Bullets - 2 Vs Wolves - 2

One of the best matches of the tournament..was well contested by two equally balanced teams.
Wolves started well as Das opened the score for them early in the game but GNB got back with a goal from there captain Windoor. From there on both team looked to attack & at the end it was fair that the game ended in draw. Dinesh added the secod for Wolves & Harish levelled it for GNB.

Match 6
Guts'n'Glory - 1 vs Wolves - 3

Wolves tasted there first win in this match..which was the last game of group stages.
GNG who looked quite menacing against Monsters earlier in the day were comprehensively beaten by Wolves. Jagga scored 2 & Dinesh scored 1 for Wolves.. Sunil scored a solitary goal for GNG at the end.

Thus Monsters finished on top of the table with 6 Points..GNG finished 2nd with 4 points..Wolves finished 3rd with points & GNB finished last with 2 points.

HFL Standings at the end of First Week

HFL first week review by SRINIDHI

Match 1

Monsters-5 vs Wolves-1

Coming back to H.F.L, the first match of the season was played between defending champions Monsters and Wolves, the champions Monsters opened their defence with positive start to the campaign with complete demolition of Wolves. The game saw Monsters dominating the entire game with outstanding all round display from the entire team, where skipper & hoysalas playmaker Vasu scoring the first hatrick of the tournament creating another record in H.F.L with first ever hatrick on tournament opener, however srinidhi(so called Fox in the Box) opened the scoring for Monsters within 10 mins from the start where, Wolves came back with equalizer just at the end of the halftime, thus first half of the H.F.L new season opener finished with score line reading 1-1, second half witnessed more demolition act from the defending champions, where their skipper vasu came back to haunt Wolves with scoring 3 goals in very short span of time, along with vasu arun contributed another goal for Monsters as Monsters completed their demolition act against wolves with a sweet 5-1 victory.

Match2

Guns’N’Bullets - 1 vs Monsters - 3

The next match was played between Defending champions Monsters and Guns’N”Bullets, where GNB made Monsters to work hard more, GNB approached the game with more attacking fashion, pressing on Monsters for more occasions but it was arun who made a long range shoot right from the half to open the scoring for Monsters, but GNB fought very hard to hold Monsters but once again skipper vasu came in very handy with a crucial goal on the other end as monsters took complete control of the game, GNB pulled one back thru Abhiram, when monsters defender Karthik collided with GNB striker Abhiram to concede the goal, at closing stages of the match monsters striker srinidhi completed the game with yet another name on score sheet to take 2 goal cushion lead over GNB. So match once gain concluded with Monsters clinching the top spot with two consecutive victories in H.F.L.

Match 3

Guns’N’Bullets – 1 vs Guts’N’Glory - 1

The third match of the campaign begin when Guts’N’Glory tested the title credentials of Guns’N’Bullets, although the score line suggests both were very hard to break down, after going down to league leaders monsters in their last game, GNB made right start, with much more defensive approach to the game adding with some physical presence in it, but it was GNG who opened the scoring in form of their skipper Sunil who scored a screamer from the half line, but there after game progressed rather slowly although GNG did try to break on more occasions but laterally failed, where GNB came good in second half with much more determined mindset to win the game, finally Madan got the equalizer right at the stoppage time thru a controversial goal allowed by referees.

So, it was the first fantastic week for H.F.L, with Monsters clinching the top spot of the table, Guts’N’Glory placed right behind the leaders at second spot, where Guns’N’Bullets & Wolves making 3 & 4th position respectively.

HFL Begins with a Bang

H.F.L 2007 resumed after a long break, with all 4 teams lined up to fight the supremacy over each other. Monsters, Guts’n’Glory, Guns‘n’Bullets, Wolves were the fantastic four teams to start the tournament for the new season. I would like to thank all 4 team & there players for giving HFL the much needed enthusiasm.
With Das, Girish, Shashi coming back next week we should expect more fireworks..

There is a slight change in the fixtures..We have decided to prepone the future matches & now it will be played on 01/09/2007 & 02/09/2007..i.e this saturday we will finish the league games & the next day Semifinals & final will follow..
Captains should make sure that there teams are on time..

Review for Week 22 : Misery Continues

Vs Vinayaka
lost 1-5

Hi,

Started off well, had good amount of ball possession till the early part of second half & than as usual lost the plot & suffered a humiliating defeat..

We conceded a early goal but got back with some flowing football & levelled the scores with Madan scoring a very good goal after Das played him in with a beautiful pass. Before that Madan missed a sitter where all he needed to do was to shoot at the target. Another good performance came from goalee Mahesh he saved atleast 4-5 clear goals. A tremendous improvement from him. The rest of the team did well in the first half but once the second goal was scored from Vinayaka than we played awfully & conceded 3 more..

Review for week 21 : Another miserable week

Hi,

Its getting worse week by week for us..and the saddest part is that everyone seems to have lost the desire to win a game..

Vs Vinayaka

lost 0-4

A miserable performance where we took the ball to opponents 'D' only once..nothing else to write about this match

Man of the Match : None

Vs NITTE
lost 1-3

Good amount of ball possession & more than a dozen opportunities to score & we lost the match by 1-3. Everyone played pretty badly except me.. i m sorry to say this but everyone lacked basic football instincts in the match..its the fourth match aginst NITTE & i still wonder how can we loose all the 4 matches to them..they are way below us in terms experience & skills.

Man of the Match : Raja

Lets hope everything goes on well from next week..& please make sure to Participate in the HFL from next week onwards..

Mid-week Review for week 20 : Bad luck continues

Vs Vinayaka
lost 0-1

Hi,

It was one of our best performance in a long time but still we couldnt win the game..thanks to a goal scored after our Goalee Mahesh fumbled the ball due to a bad bounce. There were atleast 3 clear chances for us to score & as it is common nowadays with us..we couldnt convert them. Dinesh played his best football since he started playing & had couple of strikes saved by the opposite goalee..Nari, Vasu, Chandru, Das all had a good game. Abhiram playing as a fullback did well & its gud to c players wanting to play at the back. Our defending was great .. they hardly had any chances. Mahesh had a great game except for one mistake which cost us the game.

Review for Week 20 : Youngsters Shine in Defeat

Vs Vinayaka
Lost 4-6

Hi,

One more defeat..but there are many positives to take from this match. Our youngest players Darshan & Harish scored goals for us in this match. Harish Scored 2 & Darshan 1. And for the first time in our club's history Das has overtaken Biddu as the top scorer with 11 goals. So a great week for us inspite of the loss. There were three own goals scored by us & that was the difference at the end..but due to the damp conditions we cant blame anyone for this.. Overall a great team performance.

Lets hope we start winning from the next week..

Team Hoysala

Review for week 19 : One more defeat

Vs NITTE - lost 6-7

Hi,

Hemanth(Das) scored the Second hatrick of the season..Biddu scored 2 & sunil scored a wonderful goal...thats welcome relief for us but we allowed 7 goals thats the worrying thing. Lets take a look at players performance individually in this match & i will rate them out of 10.

Das - Scored 3 goals .. had a bad first half - 6/10
Biddu - Scored 2 goals - missed more than half a dozen - 5/10
Sunil - Scored a goal - didnt feed enough balls to the forwards - 4/10
Vasu - Assisted in couple of goals - can perform better than this - 4/10
Dinesh - Came on as substitute - didnt have much impact on the game - 3/10
Chandru - Played his part pretty well - 5/10
Jagga - Had a poor game - allowed a goal - 2/10
Chander - Had a poor game - Allowed couple of goals - 1/10
Windy - Scored a goal but at the wrong end.. - 2/10
Srinidhi - Couldnt really adjust to the new position..gave away easy balls - 2/10
Swamy - Did really well & checked the opponents attack in the 2nd half - 6/10
Girish - By his standards had a average game..couldnt feed much balls to the forwards - 5/10
Mahesh - Had one more bad outing should have saved atleast 2-3 goals..but came up with a stunning save in the 2nd half - 1/10

Review for week 18 : Victory was so near...how did we miss it???!!$%^

Hi,

We were so close to end our sequence of defeats..but we choked yet again not once but twice this week. The first game against Vinayaka, we put up a great performance & completely outplayed them...and were leading 1-0 for most of the game..but a lucky last minute goal by them saw the victory turning into a draw. Das scored a fantastic goal from a long range & we had more than one chance to double that lead but missed those chance yet again.

Man of the Match - Das

Second game was against NITTE, performace here was completely opposite to the one against Vinayaka..though we had alsmost 70-80% of ball possession we scored just once but they scored whenever they got the ball forward..to be precise twice in the whole match & they won 2-1. Vasu scored the goal for us & looked very good throughout the match but he wasn't able to deliver the last pass..same was the case with me, Nani & Das for most of the match. Defense was really good & had one of the best games. Our Goalee Mahesh strangely pulls off some of the most difficult saves..but makes mistakes when it looks fairly easy..he needs to work a bit more on his goalkeeping & support the team better.

Review for week 17 : Great performance cannot prevent defeat

Hi,

After last weeks poor show..we were good .. really good actually but could not capitalise on the lead we had.. We lost the game in the closing moments of first half when we gave away 2 very silly goals. Das opened the scoring for us with a well taken penalty after we dominated the early parts of the game.. Harish & Darshan for the first time looked good & every other player showed greater commitment than usual but Shashi was the standout performer in the game..

The frustration in the opposite team clearly shows that we had a good game...lets hope we continue with this form in the coming weeks

Win Percentage - 15%

I take the complete blame for our poor form this season..I havent been able to sustain the good work done by Swamy & Chandru. We had a small discussion after Sunday's match & we were thinking about changing the captaincy..As I have been not able to perform as expected I am offering to resign as captain & player but will continue to support the team. There are many senior players like Hemanth, Windoor, Sunil, Vasu, Srinidhi who can takeover from me.

So for better results i would suggest all of u to decide on your next captain rather than a single person deciding it..so its upto you guys now to take HOYSALA FC forward.

ALL THE BEST

Review for Week 16 : 3 more defeats this week makes it 9 in row

Hi,

I am sorry i couldnt inform most of the team members about the sunday morning match as we got the confirmation pretty late in the night & the match was to start at 6.30 am.

We lost three matches this week..2 against Vinayaka(0-5 & 0-4) & 1 against NITTE (3-4) college team..

There is nothing much to write about the matches against vinayaka..as it was the usual thing a good 1st half where we missed half dozen chances & defended pretty well & followed by a pathetic 2nd half where we allowed them to have a feast.

But our performance against NITTE was the worse..an easy team compared to Vinayaka or BU..we had a golden opportunity to register a win, but with over confidence & some poor football
we managed to win ourselves one more defeat to make it nine in a row..

Review for Week 15 : Dissapointing end to a Great game

Hi,

We played one of the best games in a long time but disappointingly we allowed vinayaka to score in the final moments of the game to register 6th consecutive loss..

Girish & Dhruva were instrumental for our performance..both showed great commitment & never allowed vinayaka to settle down..they were ably supported by the defenders led by swamy. We had couple of easy chances & a penalty as well which we didnt take & in the end it cost us the match which we deserved

Man of the match - Girish & Dhruva

Review for Week 14 - One more defeat

Hi,

Its raining defeats to Hoysalas since last one month. Though we seem to play pretty well..we always end up losing. Some defensive errors & we were down by 2 goals withing 15 minutes. afterwards it was a uphill task..Das scored a wonderful goal to bring some hope but Vinayaka scored 2 more goals in quick succession to wrap up the game.

We need to do something about this..we need to win some games soon..(the simple solution is .. find a weaker opposition)

No matches this week as most of us will be in Coorg for Das's marriage..

Review for week 9 : Win at Last

Hi

Score 1-0

We last won a game a months ago on 29th april against Coxtown, & after 2 draws & 3 losses we have won a game again..that shows how important this win was for us. And also the way we won the game was very good. For the full length of the game we were the ones who looked like scoring, but as usual we werent gud enough in front of the goal.
The goal was scored by Das..after some very good work by Madan..who won the ball with a very good tackle at the half line & than passed it on to Biddu..who in turn passed it to Das..who finished it with a wonderful strike..At the back Chander seems to have adapted himself to be a Stopper back well & Madan who is partnering him looks good at that position. Girish as usual was at his best winning the balls & holding up the midfield. And the youngsters Abhi, Sameera, Darshan & Harish are getting good by each game.

Review for Week 8 - Good Performance but Hoysalas beaten again by BU

Hi Hoysalas,

Score 1-2

A much improved performance but still the victory wasn't ours.
A great first half for us where the opposition hardly had any ball possession..Arun opened the account with his first goal of the season..through a wonderfully taken free kick. The first half was like a dream where all the players had a good time with the ball.

With 6 changes in the second half..momentum was lost & BU took lead quickly..and we were left chasing till the end.

Man of the match - Girish

Review for week 7 : Hoysala Choke Again

Hi,

Once again Hoysalas choked, when looking good for the past couple of weeks..a terrible performance from all the players. Things should be tightened up as quickly as possible to be able to compete decently in the league. Though there were quite a few players missing .. we still had enough people to see us through the game.. as always we choked & gave away the ball far too easily and they were good enough to capitalise on our mistakes.

Review for Week 6 : Great performance from the teenagers

Hi,

With almost a second string team..Hoysalas managed to hold Bangalore University to a 2-2 draw.
Shashi & the two new kids Harish & Darshan put up a spirited performance to get the Hoysalas back into the game after ordinary performance in the first half. Shashi especially played very well & assisted both the goals with great support from Girish who was as usual at his best. The performance wasnt beautiful but all the players worked hard to level the game at 2-2.

Man of the Match - Shashi

Note : Madan, Vasu, Abhijeet, Mahesh, Chandru, Dinesh..please let us know ur commitment for the team..as the league is nearing we dont want to be left with 7-8 players..if u guys let it know ASAP..we can sign up some new players or we can ask Dhruva, Lohith & Vrishabh to be a part of the team for the league. And if Mahesh (Goalee) doesnt come from next week .. i will be taking over as the No 1 Goalee of the team for the league...and Das will be the backup Goalee.

Review for week 5 : Mixed week for Hoysalas

Hi Hoysalas

Great week for Hoysalas..considering the number of games we played this week. But the results were somewhat mixed.

Against Cox Town Team - 3-1
The first match was really amazing..we hardly have dominated the oppositions like that this season..truly a terrific game by one & all. It was almost a perfect game with Das & Vas scoring the goals.

Man of the Match - Das/Vasu

Against Bangalore University - 3-3
It was much better performace against BU..than the last two weeks..with Biddu back in the team..we were certain to score some goals..& he did it in style with a hatrick. It was evenly matched game at the start but by half time BU were leading 3-1...and it looked like another defeat..but Hoysalas showed glimpses of returning to form with 2 excellent goals by Biddu.

Man of the Match - Biddu

Against Cox Town Team - 2-4
With two good results in 2 days .. it would have been perfect finish if we had won the game .. but as always our inconsistency showed up & we played like amateurs against a gud team. It was a dissapointing performace from the whole team where we were outplayed in all departments.

Man of the Match - Biddu

Tremendous response to the practice session...

I thank Srinidhi & Jagga for taking time out & coming out for the practice...this is a huge progress as 3 (Yes..its three) of us practiced today...we r heading in the right direction...i.e..(towards the end)..may god bless all of u with a sound sleep.

Note : (Only for Srinidhi & Jagga - Guys lets change the venue for saturdays practice..the ground is bit big for 3 of us..so lets do it on Kamalamana Gundi on Saturday at 6)

Review for week 4 : Another defeat

Hi,

This week saw us improving a lot from the previous week..but it wasnt enough as we lost 0-2 once again to BU. Both the goals were scored pretty early in the match..but after that it was Hoysalas all the way..except that they once again failed to find the net despite keeping the possession for the major part of the game.

Heartening fact is that with a depleted side we still could controlled the game..with each one putting up a excellent performance. Defence was great with Chander leading from the front so was goalkeeping. Girish was at his best winning the ball consistently.

Next week the match will be played at a new ground(hopefully) which is 6 kms away from GKVK (NITTE College Ground). Hoping for a win & better performance in that match.

The State of English Premier League

Must read..its interesting

E.P.L will certainly not at its best

"In four Champions League meetin between Chelsea and
Liverpool, these two of the Premiership's biggest
teams managed to score ONE goal between them. Now
don't get me wrong, I believe their tactics are
EFFECTIVE. Defence wins game, as I always believe. And
their results both in the Europe and domestic fronts
have proved that with their defence-oriented tactic,
both of them will be a major force for years to come.

I have a vision: within the next decade, all the top
sides of the Premiership will be employing foreign
managers. They will be adopting a cautious,
result-oriented tactic, just like Chelsea and
Liverpool do. Take Newcastle for example, Graeme
Souness' is on the edge, it's only a matter of time
before the axe fallen on him. If their chairman is
smart enough, he would hire a foreign coach. Not the
"sexy football" type of Ruud Guilt cowboy football,
but a "tactican" whose brand of football doesn't need
to be pretty, but effective. Spurs had already done
that, and the result is for everyone to see.

Arsene Wenger is an odd exception. His belief on
attacking football and team spirit is more
English-like than your typical foreign "tacticans".
When Man Utd and Arsenal were at the peak of their
power, though they were labelled by journalists as a
boring annual "two-horse" race. But their football on
the pitch suggested otherwise. I called Arsenal's
football as "First 15 minutes of Hurricane", they
would blow you away within the opening quarter hour of
the match. Man Utd's football was the "Last 15 minutes
of Storm", it didn't matter if you were led by one
goal or two, you knew you weren't safe when playing
against United, 'cos they would create wave after
wave's attack inside the last quarter hour of the
match to tear you apart.

Both sides employed a more cautious-free traditional
English attacking mental. Because of that they would
inevitably be dropping silly points during their
"two-horse" title race. And that's what made it
interesting. And that's why both teams had
successfully turned around a 10-12 points deficit
respectively to beat each other to the titles in the
previous campaigns.

One day, Alex Ferguson will call it a day at Old
Trafford, so will Arsene Wenger with Arsenal. And I
have a strong feeling the next managers for both clubs
will be more likely a Sven, Rafa, Special One type of
"master-tactican" than anything else. Arsenal fans who
been complaining about AW's lack of tactical
flexibility will get their wish.

Good bye to the end to end attacking football, the
trademark of English football, the reason why we all
love watching English football. And entering a new
phase of English (Football) Revolution... introducting
the "Series E".

Just like watching the Italians "

This will be the future of English Football in coming
10 Years

Review for week 3 : Hoysalas lose 0-5

Hi Hoysalas,

Hoysalas suffered there first loss of the season against BU. The margin of the victory 0-5 doesnt really show the actual picture. It was Hoysalas who dominated the majority of play but there inability in front of the goal showed once again as they let go nearly 20 chances & the opposition goalkeeper also pulled couple of exceptional saves to deny hoysalas any goals. This is a worrying sign for us as we are nearing our C-Division League.

The midfield combined well & it was heartening to see a number of excellent moves by them.
The defence combination was a completely new one as both Raja(Goalee) & Swamy were missing, but they did a pretty neat job..especially windoor who was brilliant in the first half.
Goalkeeping is also a big worry..as a captain & goalee myself my performace was worst..i hope to improve it in the coming weeks. Shashi who played for the first time this season was exceptional...filling in attacking midfielders position perfectly.

Hoping we put up a better performance in the coming weeks
