HFL : Match Day 3 Review by SRINIDHI

1st Semifinal

Monsters - 2 vs Guns'n'Bullets - 1


Monsters down Bullets to clinch HFL Final Berth!!!

After Monsters losing their previous match against GNG, Monsters wanted to prove to the rivals why they were defending champions, taking on GNB, their performance was once again not up to the mark, defeat in their previous game was very hard as they were made to work hard in order to get the victory, Although monsters took the lead, the game never was one sided, earlier lose to monsters in the league GNB wanted to take sweat revenge on their title rivals but went on to finish as losing side, monsters skipper vasu doubled the lead in the second half as swami came back to score a lone complimentary for GNB, as the match concluded Monsters cruised for another final keeping the title hopes alive.

2nd Semifinal
Guts'n'Glory - 1 Vs Wolves - 1 (GNG won the match 3-0 on penalties)

After Monsters securing one of the two final spot, the second semi final was played between Wolves and GNG. GNG were in confident mood as they just came into the game beating the league leaders, GNG started the game with brilliant fashion with attacking more often, Mahesh opened the scoring for GNG in the first half, but thereafter they missed a lot of chances to take the lead. Wolves made a very good start in second half came back in the positive mood confusing GNG defence lot of times, finally jagga provided the much needed equalizer, with wolves hitting back at the break extending to extra time, but neither of the sides failed to convert the chances, the match had to be decided with penalties. Wolves failed to convert penalties to hand over the remaining final spot to GNG with 3-0 drubbing. Thus, the match ended with GNG going thru to final to face Monsters.

And the FINALs...

Monsters - 1 Vs Guts'n'Glory - 0

The most astonishing tournament came to an end with defending champions Monsters taking on Hard fought Guts”N”Glory. Monsters started brilliantly piling pressure on GNG for most of occasion, when the monster skipper vasu’s brilliant run from the half line to pass to darshan who scored an text book goal was the lone complimentary of the game. But as expected GNG came back in the second half creating one or two easy chances but failed to convert up front which resulted in handing over the championship to Monsters. With this triumph, Monsters now holds the HFL record of back to back championship winners. As the celebrations began in Monsters camp, their skipper Vasu was declared as Man of the Series, along with Vasu, Karthik was also handed the best defender of the series
